Harlan @ Barbourville 12/6

Thoughts on this one?

Harlan has the makings of a pretty nice team, after watching the 1st against Pineville, they have good size, good outside shooting, and a nice playmaker, if they can get a double double from the 5 spot and Begley and Ealy keep making shoots, with Taylor slashing and getting to the foul line, this team could get back to where they were years ago, not to that level mind you but making noise about who wins the titles. I do see a big need to play much better defense, if these kids get to work on their D they will be a tough out come March, and should be back to Richmond for the All A.

I look through here and no one is giving Harlan a chance. They will turn some heads this year...possibly starting tonight. Nolan @ a very strong 6'4 brings a total different look to this team. Teams have to defend the post against Harlan now and he is a big imposing presence in the middle on Defense. Begley and Ely are shooting well and Saragas has improved his ball handling, shooting and dribble drive significantly. Taylor's 3 point shooting has also improved and he can take players out on the floor then to the hole.

I'm not ready to crown them yet, but this is a much improved Harlan team.

I agree with everything you are saying. I too think Harlan is a MUCH improved team and will win more games than last year, maybe a lot more. On the other hand, Barbourville has a really nice team and are always tough to beat at home.

I look for the All A winner to be one of these two teams.

Harlan does have a very nice team.I think later in the season they will come along good. They will beat some quality programs. Barbourville can light the Three up with most of their players. All five starters handle the ball as good as anyone. Harlan could win this game if they can stop the three and keep Beck and Josh Hildebran from driving but that is not likely to happen. Barbourville will be one of the top five in the region. Harlan could be there with a little more confidence which will come later in the season. I have seen both teams play and that is why I chose Barbourville. You won't have to give Harlan a chance they will get it on their own. Harlan plays with a lot of heart and some young talent. If they keep improving they will be a hard team to beat come tournament time.

Snow might have been a detriment to B'ville somewhat, giving Harlan another 2 months to improve. Will be an interesting season in Class A.

Did I miss something? Not seeing how that link has anything to do with Harlan @ Bville?
