How It Happened
Ky Bowman hit two free throws with 2.9 seconds remaining to lift Boston College to a 72-70 victory at home over #25/25 Miami on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing by seven - 70-63 - with 6:17 left in regulation, the Eagles held the Hurricanes scoreless the rest of the way. Jerome Robinson scored six straight points for Boston College, including the game-tying free throws with 1:39 left. BC made a defensive stop on the next possession but gave it right back to Miami with a turnover with 1:10 left. The Canes had several looks at the basket but Bowman corralled the defensive board - his 12th of the night - and set up the final possession.

Robinson missed a 3-pointer with :07 left but Bowman fought for the steal off the miss and was fouled on the attempt, setting up the two game-winning foul shots.

The first half was an offensive showcase, with both teams combining to shoot better than 57% from the floor. There were five lead changes and six ties through the first 10:00 of play. Miami led by four - 29-25 - with 8:20 to play but BC would counter with five unanswered en route to an 8-2 push. A 3-pointer by Nik Popovic made it 33-31 with 6:55 to play. Both teams traded baskets much of the rest of the half and the Hurricanes led, 44-43 at the break.
