Area police are searching for a man who escaped from the Big Sandy Federal Prison. Prison officials say they noticed 21 year old Daniel Middleton was missing around 10:30 Friday morning. A short time later, they found his shirt at the Honey Branch Industrial Park. The U.S. Marshal's Office was called to search and local officers are helping too.

"We're gonna keep watching for him, and if he's in the county, try to get up with him. He most likely left the county for Virginia or back to Harlan County where he's from," said Sheriff Garmon Preece.

Daniel Middleton is described as a white male, five foot eleven inches, 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his right arm. He was serving 30 months for drug charges. If you see him, please call your local police.

How stupid is he, now there is another possible 10-20 years added on for the escape charge when they find him, and they will find him because the stupid ass will slip up they always do sooner or later.

That is stupid... he won't be a free man with the law looking for him... and it's not like he had his life to spend in jail....
a man who tried to escape from the county jail got 8 years for it... then around 8 months after he tried to escape they dismissed his case he had been incarcerated for b/c the evidence ended up proving him not guilty... so now he has to spend 8 years in prison when he could have been a free man

He walked away from the minimum security prison camp, it has no fences. and if caught he faces only an additional 18 months.
