Beechwood gets an early running clock and shuts out Danville in Fort Mitchell. Ads winless streak extends to 23 games. Not sure if that is the longest in the state but it has to be close.
All Danville fans like me can hope for is administration does something to get this program back on track. Otherwise, this losing streak may get to 40 games at this pace.

Danville should've made the whole coaching staff catch a Uber home. They might have the worst coaching staff in the State. JENKINS scored more points than Danville and they forfeited games. Boyle middle would beat this Danville team.

What was the purpose of this game? What was achieved? Dumb... just dumb.

So does that mean Danville Bate would beat their high school team? Because I think Bate was better than Boyle Middle this season.

I wanted to post something last night but ended up sleeping on it and spent this morning going over my thoughts. I'm not sure about you, but my best ideas usually come over bacon, eggs, and plenty of coffee.
What occupied most of my time was figuring out how I could describe this feeling. I'll give a little bit of background first. To say I grew up and lived most of my life as an Admiral fan is an understatement. I've travelled many a mile to cheer on the Admirals. I've gone to so many home games at Admiral Stadium, it's hard to keep count. Somewhere out there are photos of me as a tiny child at Admiral stadium. When I think back to the time I was a student at DHS, my favorite memories revolve around going to Admiral games after school with my dad. Away games were the best; cherry cokes for the road, a CCR album, and whatever good local eats we could find (and I count the Sanders Cafe in Corbin as local!). As I got older, I kept going and cheering whenever I could, and when I couldn't be there in person, I listened to the radio.
So, we return to the question: how do I describe what I feel? Peace. As I listened to the radio broadcast of last night's game, I couldn't help but laugh at certain parts. Not necessarily at the game, but at the idea that I've given so much thought recently to a team that doesn't exist anymore. Danville might improve, Danville might even become good, but they won't be my Admirals. They won't be the same program that I listened to proudly from afar, nor would they be the program my dad and I spent so much time cheering on, nor would they be the program I saw as a kid, surrounded by the love of my family. Those are memories now, and I am at peace with that.
So, this will be my final post regarding the Danville Admirals. If they play a team I am interested in I might make a brief prediction, but beyond that I have nothing more to say. I want to take the time to thank AdsFanatic for continuing to cover Admiral games this season. I appreciated your observations throughout this year and enjoyed reading them each week. For one last time: Go Admirals, and feel the weight of the anchor!

I just hate it for Old Admirals like yourself. I grew up with my pawpaw telling me stories about Corbin and Danville games, and how Danville fans would ride into town on trains. It was one of the state's best rivalries, pitting two of the best teams in all of Kentucky. I just hate what has happened to Danville. Makes me very sad. My pawpaw would be sad, too.

I definitely feel a lot of what you feel. I think last night's blowout is not just indicative of the football teams but even the academic quality of each school right now as Beechwood is top 10 and Danville is bottom 10. The whole district in Danville has lost its way and the football program is part of a slow erosion of standards and quality there over the better part of the last decade. Adults screwed this up for kids and now it is the job of adults to fix it.
I hope there is a lot of long-term reflection going on in Danville over the next few months about how they can get back on track. If so, maybe they can bring longtime fans like you and I back into the fold, as well as community partners that have also given up on the system.

I competed against Danville athletes in track and field in the early 2000’s when Kelvin Turner played. What always stuck out to me was how proud they were of their tradition and they had a swagger to reflect it. I remember thinking how glad I was to not to have to played them in football because they were a a beast of a program. As someone who remembers them being the gold standard when they dominated 1A in the 4 Class system it is hard to fathom how far they have dropped.

If the rumor mill turns out to be true, change is coming. Time will tell.

In a weird way, Danville has never done well since the 4 class system went away. In 2A (six classes) they've only won one championship and made two titles games. Closest Sam Harp came to a six class title was 2010 when the Ads made the final four and lost to Owensboro Catholic in a 61-42 shootout.

I'm choosing to think of and remember the Danville I grew up watching play when they would come to Corbin or the Danville my pawpaw told me stories about when I was 10 or 11 years old. That's the Danville i hope to see return to glory again someday.

The admin at Danville should be ashamed.. of what they have allowed to happens at Danville. What a slap in the face to the people who once built the program there.

Quick question ... anyone know when/why Danville quit using the anchor stickers on their helmets? Kind of surprised me Friday night.

Danville has an AA title when there were three classes, a 3A title in 84, numerous AA and A titles. Not sure there has been a more catastrophic fall.
