I’ll put Big Boomers comment here.
I can't remember what the final score was but I think it was roughly 40ish to 6-9 points favoring Corbin. GRC had a really big line and had a good game plan to disrupt Corbin's strengths, it gave Corbin a good test. my take away is Corbin has tons of speed in skill positions and play makers and two very, very good QB's in Elam and Salmons. the negatives were some high snaps that cleared Elam's head a couple times. Corbin's line is not as big as they usually are but I think they will be ok other than I think they will have to be locked in for Pikeville's run game. I thought they came out a little flat early, but I think it will be good for them in the long run because it showed them what to look at before Pikeville and tune in. which I don't question with the quality of the coaching staff they have. I think they performed their best under pressure. they looked more like a darn good 4A team instead of a really good 6A grade team like last year and so it just felt a little different in my opinion.

I’m with you. I get to talking with everyone that sits near me in the stands and I miss half of the games myself. I think Corbin will be fine as they have nice Senior Leadership in the right key positions this year. Fun year ahead for the players.

I didn't get to go to the scrimmage. Was out of town. How did the defense look? Did Malachi Brown make an impression? Did he play any at TE? How about Meadors? Did he play both offense and defense? Are we seeing other guys going both ways? What are we liking about the Salmons kid? Line play... is it going to be good enough by season's to challenge for a regional championship?
Give me some early grades:

Final score was 46-9. Corbin ran 10 days and then GRC ran 10 plays. Agree with Big Boomer, Corbin did seem to come out a little flat. Corbin's first 10 plays seemed weird to me. Looked like they were practicing an RPO offense and didn't have much success. . GRC threw a pick 6 in their 10 plays. Next was 2 quarters were regular football, 4 downs, 10 yards for 1st down, etc. Corbin center struggled at times with high snaps, one resulted in a safety. Other than that, Corbin basically did whatever they wanted on offense. GRC quarterback had a rough game, Threw 3 interceptions and was under pressure most of the game. Corbin defense also had a fumble recovery that they ran in for a TD. I was impressed with Corbin's conditioning as they had several players play both ways. GRC seemed gassed by the third quarter. Both JVs played the 4th quarter. I have no clue if Corbin has closed the gap with Boyle, or even if they are in the same conversation with Paducah Tilghman, Covington Catholic, and Franklin County. But it is obvious the coaching change is a breathe of fresh air. Reminds me of the Haddix era of a players first program as opposed to the Greer era where it was coaches first.

I’m a fan of players getting to play both sides of the ball. Good Report!
