Unless I’m missing something i just don’t see how this game is close. I don’t know much about Martin other than they was Sheldon Clark before the name change, and they are 2-0 against two schools that’s not historically considered a big football school. I do see they dropped down to 2A and i only bring that up because i thought maybe they combined some schools but i guess that’s not the case. So if anyone has any info as to why this game should be that close I’m all ears, and I’m not knocking them by no means, i just can’t see it being a close game.

Sheldon Clark is improved from what we have seen in recent years. On paper Harlan County is the better team. I think this will be a good measuring stick for Martin County and they will see where they are at. Hope for a good clean injury free game.

Where's the best places for them to get a pre-game meal? They need to be fed well before The Black Bears spank them.

Well, on the way there's nothing after Whitesburg. If they come early, the can drive about 3 miles past the school (which is right beside of 119 and highly visible) and go to Harlan city. You will see Arbys, Dairy Queen and just a little farther along, there's Hardee's, Pizza Hut, an excellent Taco Bell, KFC, Rax, McDonald's and Wendy's. Down town Harlan there's The Portal; great pizza and subs. The Portal also serves beer.

Thanks for sharing that. I know Pine Mountain Grill in Whitesburg is a good option before crossing the mountain. Rax is the only Rax remaining in the state, and better than Arby's

You are exactly right!!! I would suggest either Rax or Taco Bell unless you want breakfast. Nobody beats Dairy Queen's biscuits n gravy!

We may get spammed tonight(I honestly don’t think we will) but this team is the best team that has been in MC for a few years. We are looking forward to tonight. We feel HC strength plays into our hands. MC feels very good about their defense. Magoffin scored 50 points against Knott and only 6 last week. Betsy Layne scores 46 last week but only 12 against the Cards. Both the Bobcats and the Hornets did some things better than HC offensively. We know HC is going to run the ball right at us!! We are looking forward to that challenge.

One last thing for Martin Co fans, your cell service will be spotty after leaving Cumberland. With Verizon, I have 3 bars at HC school. Most folks with AT&T don't have much luck.

Reading must be hard in Martin. Reread what i wrote and get back to me. Sorry but Betsy Layne and Magoffin isn’t exactly something to compare to what you’re about to run into tonight.

First off, Martin isn’t in Martin County. Secondly, I read what you wrote and I never compared the first 2 with HC.

Lastly, HC has a first class fanbase and coaching staff. They bullied us and ran us off the field. Good luck to the Black Bears the rest of the way.

Btw, the football field and stadium are beautiful!!
