Here are a few Sweet 16 trivia questions while we wait for next week to get here. We'll start easy and get a little harder as Wednesday gets closer
(1) Who was the first coach to win a regional at Clay County and take the Tigers to the state tournament?
(2) Everyone knows that the 1948 Brewers High School was the last undefeated Sweet 16 champion. However, since 1948 only one team has gone undefeated against Kentucky teams. What was that team?
(3) What former 13th Region coach coached boys high school basketball teams to state championship in 2 different states?
(4) What former state runner-up team played the entire season without calling a single timeout and without making a single substitution? Under today's regional alignment this team would be in the 14th Region?
(5) Three part question: What school has won the most Sweet 16 games during the last (a) 20 years, (b) 10 years, and © 5 years?
(6) What session of the Sweet 16 had the highest recorded attendance? Note: it won't do you any good to look up the attendance records in the KHSAA record book. For some reason they don't list this session. However, it's listed in the KHSAA individual game statistics.
(7) What was considered the "Game that Saved the Sweet 16?"
(8) Name two Kentucky High Schools that have won national championship tournaments? There could be more than two, but I know of two.
(9) What coach has won the most Sweet 16 games?
(10) Three coaches have won 3 Sweet 16 championships. Who was the most recent?

Thank you I appreciate it. I have not a clue on #6. This was fun though. Hopefully you will do more of these. I'm a huge fan of this kind of stuff.

The answer to number 6 is a 1/4 finals in 1999. The two matchups were:
Scott County vs. Madison Central
Paducah Tilghman vs. Pleasure Ridge Park
According to the KHSAA the attendance was 23,965, which is a couple thousand more than they list on their records site. I have no idea how they could have overlooked this one. I was there. It was sold out and packed. Below is a link to the official KHSAA state sheet:
