The Oldham County boys’ basketball team, No. 13 in The Courier-Journal’s Litkenhous ratings, overcame a slow start and went on to steamroll Grant County 65-33 in the first round of the Eighth Region tournament at Henry County.
Leading only 19-15 at halftime, the Colonels (27-5) went on to outscore the Braves (15-16) 46-18 in the second half to secure the final margin.
Sam Gruber led Oldham County with 12 points, while Tyler Carr scored a game-high 14 for Grant County.
Oldham County plays Owen County at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the second semifinal of the night.
