How the NCAA Playoffs Could Have Looked
#1
This is how I would have seeded the teams if I was the judge, jury and executioner Smile
All power conference champions get automatic bid, then 10 at large teams selected.
(Conf and ** denotes champion, * denotes at large)

1/ LSU (SEC**) vs.
16/Cincy (B.East**)

8/ Clemson (ACC**) vs.
9/ Michigan (*)

5/ Wisconsin (B10**) vs.
12/Boise State(*)

4/ Oregon (P12**) vs.
13/Kansas St (*)

6/ Arkansas (*) vs.
11/Michigan St(*)

3/ Ok. St (B12**) vs.
14/South Carolina (*)

7/ Stanford (*) vs.
10/Georgia (*)

2/ Alabama (*) vs.
15/Va Tech (*)

I wouldnt hold my breath. I would say the closest you'll see to a playoff will be a plus-1.

I think a 16 team playoff would be an absolute waste of time. Im a fan of a +1 system, I think after 4 teams you are watering down the competition.

I like the idea of taking the Super Conference champions and having the remaining few teams be made of at-large. We have to do something if we are going to the Super Conferences, thus I bet we are getting closer to the playoff.

We got 64 in Basketball lol
I think there are enough good coaches and talent in the top 16 to force some upsets.

So pretty much your trying to say if we had a playoff, the championship would still be LSU/Bama? Cause i think it would lol.

LSU and Bama would beat everyone until they had to play a SEC team, that might upset them. The SEC is just that much better right now.

Arkansas and UGA are the best teams other than the top two....
and there are teams in other conferences better than both of them.
Seeing as how Boise beat UGA.
When you have to play the top teams in the nation there will be upsets....
we'll never know.
But I think there would be lol

I am a fan of having playoffs.

However, IMO doing 16 teams is too many. Although it would take up the 1 month between the end of regular season and bowl games, for teams like LSU and Alabama, there is a possibility of adding 4 additional games to their season not to mention if you play in your conference championship game. Worse case scenario, you could end up playing 17 games (if you make it that far). Not sure some of the less deeper teams could make it that far.

6 team playoff seems to be the idea with #1 and #2 getting a first round bye.

However, FCS does a 16 team playoff system with I think 3 play-in games so it is not out of the question. Would give us a month more of college football!!!

I am a fan of an 8-team playoff.
SEC, Big-10, Pac-12, Big-12, ACC, and 3-At-large teams. I don't care about the Big East, Big Sky, etc....

OR the top 8 BCS ranked teams, regardless or Conference, I think I like that better. If the Pac-12 champ is 7-3, why should they get in over a team like UGA? Yeah, top 8 BCS ranked teams.

7 total games over 7-weeks. Start the tourney 2 weeks after all Conference title games, to give teams a bye-week. (Start December 10 end on January 14, five days after regularly scheduled finish.) Have other bowl games on each of those days as well. Have each game don a sponsor name (1-8 called the Tostito's bowl, 2-7 called the Sprint Bowl, 3-6 called the Go-daddy.com bowl, 4-5 called the Fiesta Bowl, winner of 1-8 and 4-5 called the Orange Bowl, winner of 2-7 and 3-6 called the Rose Bowl, championship game called the whatever BCS national Champion bowl and have them rotate names every year, etc...) this keeps all the sponsorship money, increases interest which increases ratings which increase sponsorship money, gives a true national champion and quites the rublings of the Auburn's, Boise's, etc... of the world.
