Having had the pleasure of watching quite a few ballgames over the course of the years, I have seen some gems and some dogs. The games that I witnessed last night in the "All A" in Pikeville reminded me more of Australian rules football than that of basketball. Control was barely maintained in the first game, but the second game was allowed to get totally out of control. I think that was why the two technicals were called. There is nothing wrong with letting teams " play ", as long as it is done in a manner to protect the players from each other, and I feel that was not the case in the second game. Also, why I am on the "soap box", I would like to comment on the treatment of one of the players on th SF team. It is not secrect that this young man had some issues at the start of the season, but he seems to have things under control now, and I think he should be congratulated on the changes that he has made. The downside to this, is that he has taken a physical beating the last two games. If the powers that be have a problem with this young man, then that can be addressed without having him injured by another player. It would be a shame for this to be allowed to happen.

Both games were very physical. I agree to let team play but in a basketball sense. As long as it is a basketball move such as a little body in the lane or when posting and even at guard play. The games last night almost turned into street fights. Just a couple of examples from last night, during the last quarter of the 1st game Tigers throwing the ball in bounds Grimm actually use both hands and forearms to shove a Panther defender 3-4 times down the floor to get open for the pass, In the Raider game SC #14 post player was shoving W. Hall under the basket and putting his elbow in his chest just before the double foul, that same SC player while running down the floor shoved several SF players to the ground, including R. Johnson several times and this young man kept control of himself and continued a great game. There is no place in any sport for intentionaly pushing and shoving with risk to serious injury or fight. Let the kids p[lay but control the game.

I agree, the refs are in the game to officiate and not hold personal feelings against players and teams. If the game is called the same on both ends not a lot of complaining would be done but when you have a player #14 Sc last night knocked #24 From SF down to the floor in the open court and the ref trailing the play and wacthing (WEBB) and he just smiles and goes on that is very poor officiating and the Assigning seceratary needs to take care of this. I agree. #14 tried to act like a bully, but tiny little Johnson coulda taken him easily. All SC wants to do is pick a fight. I have noticed that in every game I have witnessed with Sheldon Clark. They can't beat you, so they have to fight you. That's why I'm not a Cardinal fan.

Didn't see the first game, but in the SF-SC game the refs let the game get out of hand IMO. I agree with Showtyme about letting them play in a basketball sense, but when they're elbowing & trash talking each other everytime they run down the floor, the refs should have taken control of those situation early on. Most of the time when the officials let the game go on like they did, it gets down to crunch time then they make a call against one of the teams that had been continuously not called the whole game & ends up costing one of the teams the game. At least this didn't happen in last night's game, they let it go on from start to finish, just my opinion.
