Johnson Central 59 Prestonsburg 54
#1
Just saw the score on the KHSAA website does anyone have any stats?
#2
Ya, I would like to see some stats if anyone has any!!

Congrats to JC! Big win for them
#3
They game was closer than the score shows.Prestonsburg lead most of the game and should have won.John Mark Stephens was the man in the middle tonight. He scored about everytime that he touched the ball...Blackburg played a nice game for Pburg too..

The only stat that I heard was that
JCHS shot like 25 FT's and Pburg shot 6
#4
sounds like the officiating was a little "HORRIBLE" and "INCONSISTENT" again....lol

26 FT's to 6 FT's....definitely changes the game a bit...where was the game at?
#5
seem to be the trend this year one team shots a bunch and one does not. Prestonsburg seems to be in the same funk S.F. is losing close games but will be scary come march.
the only thing good that comes out of this is I am 5-0 toward the tshirt

Herricks Never touched the floor and to be honest I dont think that he has since the SF game...lol...(Crisp is an idiot) I think that MaCarty Lead JCHS but he shot his arm off.He was bench with about 4 minutes to go for throwing up a very deep 3

Herrick is an asset the should be use by the cats. But again that is Crisp. Sure would like to see Pack back. What a job he did with the Trojans and then the Cats. Win is all he did. Maximized his talent.

He is back with the girls....I think that Jack will stay with the girls for a few more years. They only have a few seniors and the boys lose everything...

Well after watching this game, I leave unimpressed with Johnson Central. McCarty (considered by most on here to be a great player) absolutely shot his arm off. No wonder the kid averages double digits a game. Everytime he touched it he shot it.
As for P-burg, only 7 players touched the floor tonight. P-burg has a very talented bench that is going to waste. Turnovers made by certain players, and they get to stay in the game, but other players make one mistake and they are benched. Chaffin probably had double digits scoring in the first half and came back out the 2nd half with about 6 or 8 points and Coach Crisp took him out half way thru the 4th and he never returned. Michael Stephens also left around the same time and never returned. I will never understand the coaching moves made by P-burg. Having your best players on the bench during crunch time. Dumb move on the coaches part. Joe Blackburn makes things happen. And he begged for the ball all night but never got to touch it.

Also heard a certain Pburg player tell another 1 not to throw the ball to Joe....There is a certain player that is scared to death that Joe might get more points than him

Rumors are he was only going to stay with the girls this year. Pburg has M. Stephens back, Leslie, Herrick, Sweet Lou. Some quality players and a good young base with a couple good sophs and a few good freshman. That is all Pack needs. He is a quality coach. He took a Trojan team that had not won many games and won the district.

Well rumors are rumors and as of right now he has told me that he will for atleast for another year....Unless he changes his mind from now till then..
#17
If the game was closer than the score shows then it had to be a nail biter.
#18
If he can get the job, Jack Pack will coach the boys next year. Rumor has it that this is Crisp's last year and if so, Pack will coach the boys.
#19
Well, BCF4L, wonder why ole crisp would quit now due to "SOME" player leaving? You and I have had this conversation before and coach crisp also said last yr could be his final year, and he came back didnt he b/c he won district, what if he wins it again? Will he come back? Rumors are silly i think and i wont beleive he is leaving unless i see it with my own eyes........

Disappointing is my only words... heard the refs WERE a factor in this one, but that's where a good team steps up and takes control, Prestonsburg is a good team and should have had a good showing tonight. I heard it was a little bit of the "me" factor coming into play tonight also.

When has Prestonsburg basketball not been a "me" factor?

Some stats for the game....

Johnson Central:

McCarty 18 pts
Music 10 pts
Stapleton 9 pts ?? rebs
Whitaker 4 pts

P'burg:
J.M.Stephens 16 pts - 7 rebs
J. Blackburn 11 pts- 3 rebs
J. Chaffin 10 pts - 7 rebs
S. Leslie 8 pts - 5 rebs
T. Compton 6 pts - 7 assists
L. Barnett 2 pts - 3 rebs
M. Stephens 1 pt - 4 assists
#24
Looked to me by the stats everyone had good numbers scoring and rebounding, Maybe Prestonsburg could not overcome the FT difference and JC is a decent ball team.
#25
Agree J.
#26
I don't know what Crisp's deal is with Chaffin. He's the most reliable player they have and had double figures in the first half, yet Chaffin played about 3 minutes in the second half.

If P-burg is going to make any noise in the Region or District Crisp is going to have to wise up in his subtitution changes.
#27
Totally agreed blackcat... he's the most consistent player on the team.
#28
That's what we've been saying for 6 years now Blackcat. See any change in him yet?
#29
Obviously not BCF4L.
