BIG BIG accomplishment for these young men! We all are so proud of you guys and good luck against Ballard, even if you guys don't win, you all did something very special and should be proud of yourself!

Even if they didn't win the semis, they accomplished so much! But hopefully that BIG trophy comes back to Pike County!

CONGRATS! SV!! Bring that hardware back to EKY boys! OH yeah...EJ...keep closing all those mouths of all those Mr. Basketball critics! I'm lovin' it! 80 points in 3 games!

âRelax, all right? Donât try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, theyâre fascist. Throw some ground balls â itâs more democratic.â

This is one of the most inspiring runs I've ever seen! All the fans are emotional, talking about big school vs. little school and David vs. Goliath.
Truly a beautiful thing to see such a great group go out in the best way possible!
I don't know about you guys, but this is the type of thing every ball player dream of. Shooting basketball alone in the gym or in a driveway, I would daydream about hitting the game winner for the state championship, imagining the fans all cheering and representing your school and community one final time. The biggest stage, the last possible game, everything on the line, all the years of hard rock culminating in one opportunity.

It is my opinion Elisha is the best player to come out of Dorton in the 60 years I have been a fan, and he has a terrific supporting cast in both of the Newsome boys, Hatfied, Varney and the bench. In every game someone energizes the team to play their best. I thought Tanner Tackett came in and sparked the team, giving Taylor some rest, got a few rebounds and just fought for every loose ball, Ramey had done that a couple of times in the tournament also. It will take everyone playing well to win tonight, it has to be tiring to play 4 games in 3 days but both teams are in the same boat. To the entire SV team, your fans love you, you have made us so proud of you. This team from a little school in the mountains will be talked about like the Virgie team in the early 80's with Scott May and the Paintsville teams with J.R.Vanhoose. Wow, March Madness is fun. Go SV! Play as hard as you can, no one can expect anymore than that! God Bless!

Congrats Valley!! Good Luck tonight, hope to see you make the Mountains and the 15th Region proud. Most Kentucky boys dream of their high school career ending in Rupp Arena. Hope your season ends cutting down the nets in Rupp tonight.
HAVE FUN, PLAY HARD and ENJOY IT!!
The mountain basketball fans will be cheering for 2 sets of Wildcats tonight. GOOD LUCK!!

now they got the Big State title to go with the all A

These boys have truly made all of Pike County proud. It is amazing really, I've had texts/emails from folks that haven't watch a basketball game of ANY team in Pike Co, much less Shelby Valley, in 15+ years gloating on how SV has won the State Championship. It's a shame people can't be this involved all the time versus only when they are winning.

Wow, It was great down there. Amazing. Its been a honor wathcing and following this years team!!

I think this was part of the problem for Ballard. Looking back at their season, they struggled to do the same earlier this season in the LIT and struggled late in their Christmas tournament's as well late in them.
I don't know if less conditioned is the right word to use compared to their past teams, but they didn't seem to have that same ability to play alot of games in a single tournament as some of their past teams have.

When Ballard walked off the floor after the Scott Co. game they had to walk right by our boys. They was saying yeah we got this, yeah we got this. I think that they overlooked Valley. So many people throughout the season said Valley couldnt play with the big city teams, and we the Valley Faithful knew how talented our boys were.

Good luck Valley...bring it home

The Mason County game was his best offensively. I think that he was the best leader out of all of the great players in the tourney.
