Louisville Eastern vs. Louisville Trinity 2/17
#1
Eastern is back in action tonight at home against Trinity. Not an easy game by any means as Trinity is not a push over and has played the other top teams in the 7th region tough.

The keys to the game for Eastern are going to be defense and rebounding as always. They must defend Trinity's Josh Sewell and do what they can to prevent him from getting to the free throw line. Also, they must pressure the ball when guard Chris Harrison is bringing it up. The kid has talent, but he is still a freshman and will make bad decisions under pressure. Eastern should have the size advantage so I look for them to dominate that glass.

Trinity is going to have to find a way to break Eastern's pressure and I would anticipate they will use a zone defense much like everyone else who has tried to stop Eastern unsuccessfully. If they can control the baseline and prevent the open 3 it will go a long way to helping them.

Slight rivalry here, I anticipate a decent game but I also predict an Eastern victory.

Eastern by 9

I'm going with Eastern by about 14.

Good luck to both teams!

Eastern by 15. I think they could win it all at Rupp in March.

I appreciate the optimism LOOKAYANNER but it is a long and bumpy road until then. Eastern first has to do what it hasn't done in a many years and make it out of the 7th region. Not an easy task when you have to make it through Ballard, J'Town, Trinity and Male. I love Eastern's team, the only thing they're missing is an inside presence. Now, they are long enough and athletic enough to make up for it against most teams, but teams with established big men (i.e. Scott Co., Holmes etc.) are a concern.

I hope you're right and that they do play on for the title, but I will be happy to see them just get into Rupp.

Very good points, it would be good to get to Rupp.
