True, but he didn't do anything else. If it wasn't for Alex Hammonds, Crum wouldn't have hit all those 3's. If he were able to create his own shot, be able to goto his left, penetrate, and defend, then maybe he would be on some lists.

I agree with you he had some really good games in the post season this year.

I have heard all year that Crum wouldn't be able to hit 3's without Hammonds. Every game I watched, He got himself open to shoot or shot with someone on him and was very consistent. Yes hammonds passed him the ball, but thats just being a point guard. I think it is more of Crum making Hammonds look good than what people think. Now dont get me wrong, Alex is a heck of a player, and I watched Alex all through his high school career and thought he was a pretty good point guard, but this year Crum made him alot better. Without him, Hammonds wouldn't have had all of his assists, and also the floor wouldnt have been spread for him to drive in to get his points. They played very well together. Yes if you take out Hammonds, Crum would still be a good player but Hammonds made him better. But look at it the other way, take out Crum, and Hammonds wouldnt have been nowhere near as good and neither would the AC team. They played well off each other. I mean you dont lead the state in 3's while shooting 50 percent, top 10 in scoring in the state, and be 2nd all time for 3's in a season if you are not a very talented ball player. IMO, both of these boys were in the top 10 in the region, and probably even Logan Crowder in there as well. Just the postseason though, here is my top 10
1. Shane Grimm
2. Elisha Justice
3. Landon Slone
4. Aaron Crum
5. Jake Bryant
6. Dustin May
7. Ian Welsh
8. Logan Crowder
9. J.D Vanhoose

Also, about Crum's defense, the whole AC team didn't play any defense. That and free throws is the reason they aren't going to Rupp this year. They could score with anyone around, but couldn't guard my 8 year old son or my 67 year old mother. That is the whole team, not any certain player. But that is all JMO

5. Justice, Shelby Valley (Quickest kid in the region with the ball)
6. Hatfield, Shelby Valley (Hit big buckets for Valley)

I agree, never really looked at it that way. Hammonds & Crum for Allen Central had a very good year but I just think that there are better players in this region than Aaron Crum.

Oh i never said he was the best player in the region or nothing like that. Landon is head and shoulders above the rest of the players in the region, and then Elisha. But i think the 3rd best is between Crum and Shane Grimm. JMO.

Sorry for the misunderstanding but that wasn't what I meant. I meant, that there are 10 other players that are better than Aaron Crum.
Just my opinion.

One of the most consistent players from the 15th region is Shane Grimm.
03-14-2008, 10:00 PM
Grim was better in the Regionals but he's not better that Slone.

What about Matt Clevenger from Pikeville?
03-18-2008, 11:57 PM
From the games I saw this year Slone and Grimm are 1-2. To put Aaron Crum in front of Grimm is an absolute joke. I watched Grimm put up 29 against McDonalds All-American Scotty Hopson at that All-A as well as defending him the entire game and then turned right around and watch Crum get shut down by a mediocre Prestonsburg team when they (mainly Taylor Clark) held him to I think 5 points. I'm from Prestonsburg so you won't find any biased in my vote, I'm just calling it like I see it. Slone and Grimm were just a step above everyone else in the region this year IMO.
