Nice job by Coach Gray and the Tigers. They are definitely improved.

I thought Harlan would win this one with room to spare. Surprised at the closeness of this game.

Though his detractors will never admit as much, Gray is a solid coach. Seems like a lot of political BS going on over in Manchester and it has taken its toll . However when the Golden Boy and all of his cousins are finally gone over in London, look for Gray to have Clay to be back in the hunt for district titles. I stand by my contention that Glenn Gray is a good coach.

5 games in 7 days for the dragons, yes they had dead legs. Still were able to get the victory.

I appreciate him. He's a good player. But, even with him, North has been overhyped. How many State Tourney games has he and his kinfolk won over his HS career?

Reed's is a magnificent player in all aspects, one of the best 2 I've personally seen in the 13th that I can really remember. I often hear the comparison with Richie Farmer, Farmer's teams during his tenure at Clay played in 3 state championship games, winning one. Then he went on to UK, and was a significant enough contributor that his Jersey is hanging in the rafters, so we'll have to see if Sheppard's the best to ever come through the 13th, only time will tell.
I'm afraid with the current situation at UK, he'll not be on the court a significant amount of time to ever find out what he could have done, Cal will keep those number one recruits popping through like a revolving door for a year of practice before the bolt.

I've seen him play a few times in person. I hope he goes to UK and kicks ass. I'll be rooting as hard as anyone for his success. I'm not a huge fan of North , however. I'm just not. No one squanders opportunities like the Jags. Whenever NL played KC, I did pull for North, though. lol(01-14-2023, 10:07 AM)Old School Hound Wrote:I’m not disagreeing with your overhyped comment as far as the team or the fact that the team hasn’t won a game at state and may not, but your “Golden Boy and all of his cousins” comment comes straight out of jealousy and that’s not a good look. Teams in the 13th got better because they had to in order to compete with the Tigers. In recent years, we've seen Harlan Co, North, South, Knox, Harlan, and Corbin all compete very well with some of the better teams in the state and other states. Clay Co helped make the 13th stronger. In time, Clay will be back on top in the 49th.(01-13-2023, 01:14 AM)Old School Hound Wrote: Nice job by Coach Gray and the Tigers. They are definitely improved.Great to see Clay playing better. Great job!
Clay just doesn't have the talent anymore. One kid might start for any other team with the exception of OBI and Redbird at any other 13th region school. They should still get the 2 seed out of the 49th and make the region tournament though if they continue to play hard.

That has to be one of the most idiotic comments I've seen you make and I've seen you make a lot on this forum. All of his cousins? He has 2 and only one 1 starts. Jealous much? But any person that is concerned about North squandering opportunities is helpless. How many has Corbin squandered? How many state tournament games have they even won? They haven't been in position to squander much lately anyway. Get a life.

Clay isn’t any better and Gray is the same(poor) coach. As someone said, Harlan was playing their 5th game in 7 days and had a long bus ride to Clay. Fact is they overlooked Clay and rightfully so…who wouldn’t these days? Don’t just pick out a close loss to glorify Gray. Please go ahead and look at who he has beaten this year. That will give you an idea of how good they are. Gray looks like a clown when he starts every season with his quote in the paper that says “very tough schedule again for the Tigers” or “no gimmes on the Tiger schedule”. Hell Glenn, no game is a gimme with you on the bench.

Glenn is a top #7 coach in the 13th Region. Davis at South Laurel best coach in the 13th hands down.

Top 7 out of 16-17 teams? That’s something to be proud of ?

How did the “much improved” Tigers do when they went to Harlan Ind. last week? Body of work people…it’s about the body of work, not one game.

Wasn't saying anything about Corbin. This North bunch was hyped to be a dynasty in the making four years ago. They've fallen flat on their faces on the big stage. Maybe Duck Dynasty but that's about the only dynasty that North will see.
Btw, I like gettting under the thin skin of whiny little Jaguars. See ya on the 17th in Corbin !!!

Bingo! I agree with both statements. Might put Glenn top 5 .
