Not looking good for HS football in the Buckeye state. Toledo Schools have cancelled all fall sports. It appears additional districts are looking to do the same. Per the OHSAA....each district will make their own call. If Ohio shuts down......that can't be good for us here in Kentucky. Personally, I felt very encouraged last Tuesday after watching the KHSAA board meeting. That was the best I've felt about HS football here in the bluegrass state. However, I'm beginning to hear backroom whispers that are largely negative, regarding HS moving forward.

What helps us is that Kentucky basically has 2 major metropolitan areas located 70 miles away from each other and the rest of the state is pretty spread out and densley populated. Ohio has 4 major metropolitan areas (Toledo is basically suburban Detroit at this point) spread all throughout the state. Hopefully that will make a difference for us.

I hope youâre right. Selfishly speaking.... Both Pikeville and Belfry....and our neighbors to the north, Johnson Central , all have wonderful opportunities to add to their championship trophy case. Hate to see these kids not have an opportunity to defend their title.

The Director of the CDC says K-12 schools should open this fall.
It’s in the public health best interest to open schools.
It’s not “public health vs. the economy”,
it’s “public health vs. public health”.
Case closed, open the schools.

I was in Port Clinton (about 30 miles from Toledo) this past week for four days and I saw their football team practicing on a Saturday doing similar things our kids are doing now.
