I would really like to see the ref's at these Middle School games take control and not let things get out of hand. Player's, no matter who they play for, if they are punching, pushing, undercutting, etc., they need to be ejected. If the coach and the fans disagree, throw them out too. I realize this may be a drastic statement, but i'm telling you, someone is going to get hurt and hurt bad. Had a Mullins B team player get plowed into the floor the other night, gets up with a knot on his head the size of a golf ball, a foul was called but still, the player that made the foul never made an attempt for the ball, just killed him and was allowed to stay in the game. Also, at the same game, some Cowan parents cheered and clapped for these actions, this is stupid!!! It's no wonder kids can't function when they get out in the real world this day and time. Parents hold them back 2-4 years and then tell them how great they are when they beat someone 4-5 years younger than them, and on the court or field, anything goes, if you can't compete, try to hurt someone. It's absolutly absurd!!! If my child acted like that, I would pull him/her out myself, wouldn't need someone to do it for me. :HitWall:

It all goes back to middle school needing to be regulated like high school. 99% of these middle schools get best friends, family members, or someone affiliated to the school because they know they will lay it to the other team. The absolute worst I have ever witnessed several times is at Corbin. Jeesh!! You are down 10+ and your best player has 2 fouls before the game starts. Not to mention that they think they are still playing footbal. LoL. It is really bad. In a nutshell, they need better, and non-affiliated refs for middle school games. I hate watching middle school anymore because it is so obvious and blatant.

First I want to say that the boy who got hurt is ok. I was in SHOCK to see how the parents and fans acted (from Mullins). Adults and Children screaming at the refs and at the fans from the other side. Even the cheerleaders were acting rude. Mullins has at least 5 15 year olds on the basketball team. I for one won't be at anymore games this year. If the Principal doesn't get this undercontrol it's gonna get ugly.

In your post it sounds like you may be a Mullins supporter, as am I. I had heard that the kid was ok with only a mild concussion, so that is good. I agree that parents, coaches, fans, etc. need to maintain their composure, however, if your kid is the one getting hurt, it certainly puts it in a different perspective. Again, this is where the ref's need to stop this action before it gets out of hand. I actually had a ref say earlier this year after a particularly brutal game, that he "found it entertaining" when that stuff happened. It has to stop before someone gets an elbow to the head or chest and is killed or has a knee or ankle destroyed.

The need for officials is constant.
From little league games to high school.
If you see a need please become an official.
