Becca Greenwell ranked No. 6 nationally
#1
Owensboro Catholic High School standout junior Becca Greenwell missed her junior season with a knee injury.

But the time away didn’t hurt her national ranking.

The 6-foot-1 Greenwell (photo) only slipped one spot in the updated rankings by ESPN.com. She’s ranked No. 5 in the Class of 2013 nationally.

Marion County’s Makayla Epps is the only other in-state player ranked and she checks in at No. 51. Epps has committed to the University of Louisville.

Oregon standout Mercedes Russell, who is considering Louisville among her college choices, is ranked as the No. 1 player in the ESPN rankings.

Another player in the rankings is Culver, Ind., Academy forward Andrijana Cvitkovic at No. 45. She was recently offered by Louisville.

I talked to Ray Zuberer (Owensboro Catholic's coach) a few weeks ago, and asked about Greenwell. He said in her first tournament since being cleared to play, she was named MVP of a tournament in Virginia. Not too shabby if you ask me. I was able to see her play at the All 'A' a few years ago, and she broke several All 'A' state records. The girl can play!

UK should try to get her.

I'm thinking Zuberer said Florida was her frontrunner right now, but she's still keeping her options open. I know UK and UL are recruiting her hard.

I was told that Greenwell looked awesome at the Junior All-Star tryouts.

I really hope she goes to UK, she is an awesome player.

It is funny all these Kentucky girls want to go to Florida and we end up beating them anyways. Miss Moss will find out when she gets down to Gainsville that. UK don't forget.

Greenwell was just named to the U17 Team... Last year she was on the U16 team... She still looks like she is getting her hops back, but performed pretty well.

She is featured in this video: [URL="http://www.fullcourt.com/video/brianna-turner/u17-national-team-highlights"]http://www.fullcourt.com/video/brianna-turner/u17-national-team-highlights

Seen Becca a few weeks ago, and she looks great, probably the best shape she has ever been in. Looking for her to have a very dominate year.

Heard the other day Becca has committed to Duke, anyone else heard this?
