Franklin Co. has obviously had a great season at 10-0. However, their schedule has been extremely soft. Harlan Co. fans are confused right now looking down their schedule wondering if they're for real or not. The only think that really jumps out at Black Bear fans is the Letcher Co. Central game in which the Flyers won 34-27. Harlan Co. defeated LCC 60-12. So I wouldn't dare say that Harlan Co. is salivating over that 10-0 record, but hopefully, we'll find out the day after Thanksgiving up in the state's capital!

I would gladly match Harlan Co.'s schedule with Franklin Co. I already made the Letcher Co. Central analogy, name someone else they have beaten besides Anderson Co. with any credibility whatsoever statewide?
Harlan Co. has beaten Perry Central handily who also won @ Johnson Central, handled GRC with relative ease on the road, and had the lead for 3/4 of the game @ Bell Co.
Therefore, I think the schedule debate is certainly a credible one when you look past Anderson Co. on the Flyers schedule.

I wonder if HC goes on to win the 5A state, or at least make the championship game, if we'll still have to hear over and over how soft our schedule was? Will it shift then that the east region is "weak" and that's the only reason HC makes the championship?
You can only play who agrees to play you. You can certainly only beat the teams that line up in front of you, and Harlan County has done that all season...minus Bell County of course.

this is bell county's first year playing any good teams during the regular season and They ran away from highlands in 4A, So bell county is the last school to bring up a weak schedule.

Franklin County usually has pretty decent teams during the regular season, but don't show up in the playoffs. I don't think this year will be any different. They did play a pretty weak schedule.

First DevilDog, you have no clue what you are talking about Bell always plays a strong schedule.I mean last season they played Rock, Johnson, Knox and Madison Central....Do some research bub ya just make yourself look dumb.
As for you UK fan im not gonna argue much except for your statement about beating PCC handily. You must not have been at the game because Perry was in the game right till the end. And Harlan was lucky to escape that one with a W

Madison Central was 1-10 last year, Rock had a losing season.
No one is arguing that Bell Co was not any good last season just that they have not played anyone. Bell Co was indeed very good last year. But you cannot say they played anyone either. I mean you named 2 district teams and 1 had a losing season, the other non district team won 1 game.
Beating Johnson Central was evident that Bell was a good team Bell beat them to death. But the rest was pitiful. Just a true story.

I actually was at the Perry Central game and Harlan Co. was cruising 31-8 and PCC came out in the 3rd Quarter and punched the Bears in the mouth, cutting the lead to 31-29. It was certainly a wake up call that Harlan Co. needed because they came out in Quarter #4 and took care of business to win 44-29. PCC is a VERY quality opponent and I didn't mean it to sound that way when I said Harlan Co. won handily. I just meant that the Bears won by a couple of scores in a hard fought contest in the 4th quarter.

Franklin co is the real deal Timmons is the fastest ive seen in years they beat a good Anderson co team. Anderson might have had a bad night but Franklin co would beat them 7-10 times IMO.:omg:
