In your opinion, what is the most inspiring sports performance of all time?

For me, 1964 Olympics--10,000 meters. Billy Mills shocks the world and wins the gold medal with an incredible kick. If you ever get a chance to watch the actual film of the last lap, it will have you in tears.

He gets bumped to lane 4 right at the start of the last lap. Then he gets gapped by about 5 meters, catches up, then gets hit again at the top of the home stretch.

At about 50 meters before the end, he starts his kick. It may sound unbelieveable, but he makes up 14 meters in approximately 4 strides. It was almost as if God took over for a few brief seconds. Mills then cleared Ron Clark and Mohammed Ghoumudi. . .

It is worth looking for . . . . . .
