As pretty as this pic is (which my GF's dad took BTW), that Bay was ground zero for Hurrican Katrina and numerous people died who lived along the banks of it

My GF's family moved there and the insurance on their house kicked in 2 days before Katrina struck. They bought a brick house 4 blocks from the beach, it was one of only 2 houses in their neighborhood that still stood structurally...but it flooded over 12 feet high.
