To this point in the seasone the Engineers have been a disappointment. They have however played a pretty tough schedule. The tough part of the schedule is pretty much over and Estill should end the season on a good role and make a decent run in the playoffs. The record (1-4) means nothing because they havnt even played a district game yet! The boys in Estill County should keep their heads up because there is alot of football left to be played.
I still think they have a chance to win that district, at worst #2 seed going into the playoffs.
Their offensive philosophy is killing them. If they want to be a power running team that's fine. Just give the threat of passing or at least incorporate a little misdirection. Their offense is prehistoric and if they get behind by 2 scores they are in deep, deep trouble. At least upgrade to a flexbone or something. Until they do that they will not be a serious threat to win even a regional championship.

How are they not a serious threat to win a region? If im not mistaking, they did play in the region championship game two years ago at breathitt. How is that not a threat? And they did play breathitt tough in the reg. season losing 7 to 6 (electing to go for 2 instead of 1). In that game AT BREATHITT, Estill's D gave up no offenseive touchdowns the the bobocats. (only scored on a fumbled recovered for a TD). Oh and if you forgot they ran the DOUBLE WING that year too!!!!

That was actually the regular season game, the regional championship game wasn't as close but they were still a regional threat.

You are correct, they have played a tough schedule. But I truly believe that you get better prepared for a playoff run by playing against better competition rather than padding our shedule with W's. I think Estill learned there lesson a couple of years ago when the only true test they had was against Breathitt in a district game. Just keep in mind Paducah Tilghman last year, they were 4-6 entering the playoffs.
It's the mental mistakes that have been their downfall
