clay county..south laurel..north laurel...bell County ...Harlan county...harlan....williamsburg....corbin....pineville....whitley county....jackson county....middlesboro.....knox central...lynn camp.....barbourville.....redbird......onieda baptist
Above is How they finished.
and its never too early for predictions on next season.
I know several were senior dominated as middlesboro and williamsburg and harlan. Others were underclassmen & young and will look to make some noise. No doubt Clay county and Harlan county wil remain the teams to beat. others will be tough as Bell county and always North & South laurel.
Give Me your projected rankings for next season.
I agree that Clay will be the team to beat, several teams lose little to nothing from last years teams. South loses a couple key players, North also. Harlan Ind. will probably be the team most impacted by graduation in the upcoming season. Whitley will be in the mix as well as Bell, and a KC team that returns all 5 starters from last years squad. Harlan Co., M'boro, Corbin and Pineville could also make some noise. 13th should be very competitive next year. Clay is still the top dog, but dont be suprised if some of the teams listed above end Clays reign as #1.
(1) Clay county (2)Bell County(3)North laurel(4)Harlan county(5)South laurel
(6)knox central(7)Pineville(8)Corbin(9)Middlesboro(10)Whitley county(11)Harlan (12)Lynncamp(13)Barbourville
(14)Williamsburg(15)jackson County(16)Redbird(17)Onieda baptist
Notes
*South laurel last 3 seniors. Jessica dean was a big loss.
*Jackson county will Be hard pressed to find scoring.
*Middlesboro lost 3 impact seniors as well..Coleman,shoffner and their point.
overbay which will be one of the oldest players in the 13th coming back should provide leadership.
*Pineville loses nobody and brings back smith the leading scorer in the state.
But will stilll be somewhat Small.
*Wiliamsburg lost 7 seniors as well as their impact player Samantha burr.
*Corbin lost 3 seniors as well as their better player Kelsi jones but still has a very well coached team and home court advantage..
*Knox central have all the key ingredients in place guard play and size to play with the anybody.
* Maggard which has been the heart and soul of the black bears will be a big loss for harlan county.
*The 51st which has been a doormat lost hardly any players and should catch up with the rest of the 13th this season.
*Bell County which went from worst to first and though sport no superstars but some good atheletes and many feel have the best underated coach in the state.
I don't see ranking Bell County ahead of Harlan County. Bell County loses Jamie Shepherd and Harlan County loses Heather Maggard. Miranda Davenport was nowhere near 100 percent after she came back and was one of the top 10 players in the region coming into the season. Bell only went about six deep in the tournament.

Harlan County has a pair of 6-footers (Constant and Evans) to take over at center, along with Kalee Carroll back at forward. They also have Davenport, Whitney Gilliam, Lyndsey Smith and Johnnie Parker in the backcourt.

Bell County went from worst to second, not first.

Knox Central was horrible last year and lost to Lynn Camp in the district. They aren't going to be one of the top six teams in the region.

I'd go with Clay, Harlan County or North Laurel, then Bell or South Laurel.
yes when all the dust and feathers settle if you will..it will more than likely be Clay county and Harlan County once again the top teams.:notworthy
I Really like North laurels Shooting and Bell countys Mean as a Junk yard Dawg Defense. Though they lost shepherds up & down play..They will still be a better team in 2010-2011.
Maci morris and Makayla neal are Excellent players and are very Dependable.
Maggard was my favorite player in the 13th to watch...such a workhorse. Herself,Kelsie jones, samantha burr, jessica dean and sarah scruggs will be missed. It will be simply amazing to see the parity among the teams in the 13th next season in the top 5 and then the 6-12 spots..so many teams will be looking for firepower and in rebuilding stages and while others although not as talented will be well seasoned and coming of age. I honestly believe the next few years classes will have more College potential than we have seen in quite some time in the fighting 13th.
How many did clay lose this year

I agree with all of these points ESPECIALLY the point about Jessica Dean, she is a good ball-player. I believe the 13th will be more competitive than this past season. I could see one or two favorites but I am willing to say that the 3rd through 9th best teams could really cause some problems in the Regional tournament, not necessarily WIN it, but pull some upsets.
The 13th Region should be very competitive next season. Clay Co is probably the favorite to win the region once again, but 4-5 other teams could make things interesting. Several teams return a lot of players from this past season and many teams had some good young JV players that should be stepping up to the varsity level.

My rankings for the 13th region: Clay, North, Harlan Co, South, Bell Co, Whitley Co, Corbin, Knox Central, Pineville, Middlesboro, Harlan, Barbourville, Lynn Camp, Jackson Co, Williamsburg, Red Bird, OBI
Clay County will be the favor to win the region
Clay should be favored again, did lose 1 key player down low, but had a lot of young players.
Clay and NOrth, the top two...again!
It will be Clay and North again.
Again?
When have Clay and North ever been the top two? Harlan County was second the last two years.
It will be Clay and North this Yr for sure
Harlan Co then Bell Co or Whitley Co
South will be lucky to make the Region Tournament
They have had some of the best talent around here for the last 10 yrs or so and they couldnt win the region
They will struggle this yr
My top 10
1. Clay (thier number one till proven wrong)
2. Harlan Co (saw them play this summer is why i put them ahead of north)
3. North (see Harlan Co)
4. South (its SL their always going to be in the mix)
5. Bell (just going on what i saw last season)
6. Whitley (tight race between them and corbin)
7. Corbin (see Whitley)
8. Pineville (chelsea Smith)
9. Middlesboro (saw them play this summer should be a decent little team)
10. Knox Central (lost to lynn camp first round, but lost nothing to graduation)

South Laurel will struggle I dont think they have anyone to lead
Snyder has had the best talent in the region the last 10 yrs and couldnt win the Region
I think they got tier work cut out for them They may go 500
This is hilarious!!! That is A HaRlan county Player And that is What they are taught
from Day One. They have like The Best team in the 13th region loaded with tons of talent,,why in the world are They the Cheatingest team in the 13th thats just so lame even if they play tiny redbird they hold there jerseys talk trash along with non stop hard football tacklelike fouls anywhere near the basket just really obvious blatant fouls which are no way not INTENTIONAL but not called on the floor fouls by the 13th region bought and paid for officiating. Clay Countys coach is not the most popular but he does not teach Thug tactics to his players and that garners my respect.

ummm where did this come from?
What you mean without a starter
Do they have starters this time of year
Who is stating for South
They have some good young talent

Im saying they were w/o a girl whom started last season. That being said she will more than likely once again be a starter this season.
I guess you are right
I was just saying they will be down this yr

I agree that they will be down, but i still say their the favorite to win the 50th. They probly wont be to much of a regional competitior. I belive the 50th is a close toss up between South Corbin and Whitley any of the 3 can win it.
