Belfry 6th grade barely got out of there with the win.
Belfry 7th grade had to play 8th graders if that wasn't bad enough everytime belfry would get close they were some questionable calls that would set them back at first i thought that it was just bad refs but it turns out that one ref had a kid playing for feds creek now it seems it was just cheatting plan and simple. Now to the 8th grade game it started about the same way when belfry got close daddy ref had to step in again then if the late 3rd qtr and early 4th qtr daddy ref must have felt guilty and started calling the game both ways. Then guess what happen belfry got close again and this time they even took the lead. Then a feds crfeek play committed a foul and must have said something to the ref and got t-up then feds creek coach started on the ref and he got t-up twice and ejected. Then a feds creek fan came out of the crowd and he got threw out than some lady right behind him got threw out, and belfry got the win . Don't know if the rumor is true but they said it was feds creeks principal and his wife that got threw out. Hope that rumor is not true but if it is thats a black eye on a very good team.
what was the score?

and wow on that many people getting tossed
I am the Principal at Feds Creek Elementary and let me say for the record I WAS NOT THROWN OUT. I escorted a person out of the gym that was ejected by the referee. I am not going to argue about the calls being one sided or not, but the game got totally out of hand. I am not going to post any further comment beyond that. As for the game, but sides agreed to call it a no contest.

nooooooooooooooo both teams agreed no win or loss maybe you should talk to your coach for the facts of the game. Before posting!!!!!!!!!!
who was reffing this?
Not taking sides on who won and who lost with this one as I was NOT present at this game but I can recall a situtation around oh, 4 years ago when my own child played a game at FC. By the 4th quarter of the game, we had 3 players foul out, another 4 in foul trouble (by this I mean 4 fouls apiece) and a total of 35 fouls called on the team. Now I was keeping the book so I KNOW this is a fact............. my question was how in the world can one team have 35 fouls and the other team have only 4? Granted there were no fans thrown out of the game but you never saw two ref's run out of a gym at a faster rate!!! Imagine that at a middle school game... LOLOL....

To me, (and I'm not saying this because of what happened tonight as again, I was NOT there and didn't see it first hand)....... Ref's do the children participating in the sport of basketball a grave injustice when they "cheat" (for lack of another word that fits).... You are there as adults and should do as the coaches do and teach the children the rules of the game. If they commit a foul, call it! If they need T'd up for mouthin off, do it! If they walk, call it! Call the game in a way that is productive to the child getting something out of it that will ensure him/her to have a better game tomorrow! (or whenever they play next)..... It would be nice to see a referee explain to the kid (if they're not sure what the foul/call is about) what they did that warranted the foul on them. Especially at the grade and middle school levels. They are learning for goodness sakes!!! Impartiality is a part of calling these games and IMHO, if you can't be impartial you have NO business on the court/floor with this kids! Sorry about getting on a soapbox people... this one just brought back some memories for me.... LOL
If Piratefan20 had taken the time to have talked to Belfry's Coach, they would have been aware that HE and Coach Justice were BOTH VERY UNHAPPY with the calls that ONE particular REF called and had BOTH agreed to INVALIDATE the game....IT"S a pity, BOTH TEAMS played hard and should have gotten a PROPERLY OFFICATED GAME, no matter the outcome...This was Eight Grade Night and should have been a very happy memory for the Viking kids, instead the eighth graders were robbed of the last ballgame of their season and a potential win, through ABSOLUTLY NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN and the Pirates were also robbed of a possible win....Officals should do their jobs PROPERLY or not be allowed to officiate...This isn't about what the adults want or don't want , IT'S ABOUT WHAT THE KIDS WHO WORK THEIR BUTTS OFF DESERVE, FAIRLY CALLED GAMES, FOR ALL TEAMS!!:please:

Sounds like, Pike Co. has a lot of ejections. Do the schools just let anyone ref?

The #1 biggest problem in Pike Co. middle school athletics is officiating.

We have played games where parents of players are officiating the game, or you go somewhere and you have the same 2 officials every year.

Dorton, Belfry, Virgie, and Johns Creek get their officials from the 15th Region assigning secretary everyone else needs to adopt that policy too..........
Mullins does not contact Brent Rose himself but we do contact Steve Slone which is probley the top grade school offical in Pike & Floyd County to get our officals assigned. We usually get the same refs as Johns Creek, Dorton & I'm assuming Virgie has well.
The refs awarded belfry the win.
I was there and one of feds creeks fans told me that it was the principal that got tossed. So maybe he lied or maybe you are. Belfry was ahead on the score board and was awarded the win. So keep your dads in th stands and hire some real refs. If everyone has forgotten it is all about the kids so lets get it together and remember the kids from all schools should come first.
Belfry was awarded the win. if both coaches from belfry and FC decides to call it a NO-contest or void the game that is between them. I did what I had to do at the time. But what alot of Adults who write on here dont relized is that no matter what you continue to say or dont say the game and the night is over, cant relive it.. let it go..move on...and if they count the game or not then that is between them. Just let the kids try to forget about it by not having to relive it over and over on this website with everyone continuing to discuss it. If people dont like me that is fine, if they hate me that is fine. But the kids are the ones being hurt by everyone continuing to discuss it not me.
Hey it all started with you in all three games that night you should have never been a ref when you have a kid on one of the teams. YOU ARE THE ONE WHO CHEATTED THE KIDS ON BOTH TEAMS.
I wasnt there dont care what happen but it isnt really up to the coaches to say its not a game or not....its up to the Ref. the question is has he wrote up the paper work for tossing a coach if so then its an official game because by rule he has 24 hours to turn it in. Then if he has the coach has to sit out one game.
All this is very, very interesting.

If Coach Justice has sit, it will be first game of the Pike County Tourney

Hey Next, did you ever have to sit one out???

NEXT Wrote:Yep.....1 after the Johnson Central game my first year at BMS..........I usually shut-up after the 1st T.........and there have been many of those.

I remember those days.. You have gotten better, I don't think you got any T's last year...
Pleading the 5th on NEXT and BMSmom... LOLOL...

I do however stand by my earlier post that officials need to adopt a policy so that the children at this level are not hurt by officials who either don't understand the proper calls, neglect to call the proper calls, or just flat out don't do their job. THEY should be held accountable and suspended. WHY pay a man OR woman for that matter to call a game when they just can't seem to get it right? Make them accountable for their actions....
Being held accoutable for my actions...How about having authories on site at all games to where you can do your job.....not saying that everything happen because of the fans, but if you had someone other that you and the other ref to keep control of the fans, then the game would have continued and to piratemom...I think that you all won the c team game also...so if I was going to screw belfry then you whould have lost that game also, I didnt screw anyone...the game got way out of hand so quickly that any offical would have done the same thing that I did.

But this discussion should already be dropped. I wish nothing but the best for belfry or Feds Creek in the Tournament. Just let the kids try to move on and not have to relive the whole situation over and over.
Janitor 32 your kid played on the 7th grade team and they won. Like I stated before YOU CHEATED PLAIN AND SIMPLE so take a long look in the mirror and say was it worth it.
In this thread alone we have a school principal, two coaches, tons of mothers, and a battered referee all stating contradicting opinions.

God love the Internet.:thanks:

You still fail to answer the most important question...Did you ref a game in which your child was playing???

If yes, then, as an adult, why did you not decline to be in that position? If you wanted it to be fair for both sides, then you should have said no when asked to ref. You should have known that it would have caused a conflict and it wouldn't matter how you called the game, fair or not, it was always going to be a controversy. The only reason I can think for a parent to ever ref or judge a game that their kid is going to play in is a little "home cooking" to make little junior's team have a slight advantage.

In my opinion and just by reading your statements, I believe it is YOU who wants to forget what happened and YOU don't want to relive it.

Actually Feds Creek has done the right thing by just letting this be. The only person on that list that has actually posted here for Feds Creek has been the principal who revealed his identity in order to tell you the truth. The ref can stand alone on this issue. Funny though that you said discussing it on here is only hurting the kids and not you..you calling that game only hurt the kids, not the adults involved, or you of course.

Feds Creek players and fans, in the words of the Beatles "Let it be." People can only bring you down if you let them. Hold your heads high and just go into the county tournament playing like the winners you are. Don't let any of this stuff get to you. Best of luck boys!!

Good points Tribe..I think the same can be said to the Belfry boys! Neither team did anything wrong that night, they just wanted to play a fair game of basketball. The kids NEVER ask for any of the nonsense that the adults always bring into a game. Maybe we should ban adults from the games and then the kids will have fun again!

Go Luck to the Belfry teams in the county tournament!! Go get'em boys!!
Come on guys lets give the official some ups here....it takes alot for a hometown boy/father to Tee up one of there own in a close game on 8th grade night....Then turn around Tee up the Head Coach then seconds later Throw him out of the game.....He may have a son playing but that takes alot for an official to do that....Most fans want to be an OFFICIAL FROM THE STANDS IF YOUR THAT GOOD THEN GO TO KHSAA.ORG AND SIGN UP TO GET UR CARD TO CALL GAMES BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WOULD HAVE DONE WHAT HE DONE....

My point was...DON'T PUT YOURSELF IN THAT POSITION!!! He should have declined to ref that game, plain and simple, and then NONE of this would have been questioned.
Did anyone get this on video? Can we expect to see this on You Tube? Maybe his wife taped it and can put it on You Tube for us to see.
