Is there a more arrogant elected official in Washington than Arlen Specter? He gets my vote. This former RHINO switched parties because he knew that he was toast if he ran again as a Republican. Now it looks like even a good Democratic candidate would be facing a very steep climb to victory.
There will be many conservatives celebrating when Specter loses his seat to a real Republican. I will be not be surprised if Obama and the other Democratic leaders endorse Specter's primary opponent now that he is of little use to them.
Here is the latest evidence that Specter's retirement is long overdue.
