In an interview with the Contra Costa Times, Cardinals manager Tony La Russa mentioned the possibility of putting Mark McGwire on the team's active roster on Aug. 31 so he'd be eligible to play in the postseason -- if the Cardinals are in contention.

McGwire will face unyielding questions and scrutiny, in spring training this year. He better have some responses ready to the numerous questions surrounding his enhancement use.

As for putting on the active roster, can't see it serving a purpose other than possibly increasing ticket sales.
