Who do you think has the best shot at winning the 48th District Championship? The tournament will be held at Southwestern. The district standings are as follows:
As of 1/4/2010:
Southwestern: 2-0
McCreary Central: 1-0
Wayne County: 1-2
Monticello: 0-2
Southwestern has a pretty convincing 20 point win over Wayne County and has beaten Monticello pretty easily. The Warriors open up the new year at home tomorrow night as they host Monticello. Then Southwestern travels to McCreary Central on Friday night for the 1st meeting with the Raiders and then return back to the Wig Wam to host cross town rival Somerset on Saturday.
McCreary Central is going into the new year with an impressive finish in the Republic Bank tournament at Lexington Catholic. The Raiders went 7-2 over the Christmas break. The Raiders will are on the road at Wayne County tomorrow night and host Southwestern on Friday night.
Wayne County won the Monticello Banking Company holiday classic last week. Their only district win came against their cross town rival Monticello. Wayne is finally starting to play like a Rodney Woods team now. Wayne host McCreary Central tomorrow night and host Monticello on Saturday.
Monticello is not having a very good season. Monticello is 0-2 in the district with a 34 point loss to Southwestern and a 22 point loss to Wayne County. The Trojans travel to Southwestern tomorrow night and then travel to Wayne County on Saturday night.
