Final from the KOB.

Holmes advances to play Ballard in the consolation bracket semi's.
Ballard should be a good one. Excited to see this game, I was hoping Holmes would face Clark Co in this tourny but unfortunately Holmes didn't hold up there end of the bargin. Ballard is another top ranked team in KY this season though so it is put up or shut up time for the Dawgs. Its hard to say that in December but that is the way it is looking with all the talk on here.
Good to see Holmes bounce back.
Anyone have any numbers from this one
Good win for Holmes. Congratulations.

Monday's game with Ballard will be interesting. Ballards fast paced run-n-gun style against Holmes' slow down half court sets. Should be a real battle.
From Jody Demling's blog:

Consolation game: Covington Holmes picked up 17 points from Elijah Pittman and 13 from Jeremiah Johnson in a 58-43 win over Chaparral (Ariz.). Zeke Chapman, the son of former Kentucky star Rex Chapman, still not on the floor for Chaparral.
Elijah Pittman continues to dominate games...18 yesterday against McEachern and 17 tonight against Chaparral.

Good to see JJ also having a solid game with 13 points.

Do you have the match ups for Holmes-Ballard.
Holmes offense needs to go through Eli... Every possession that they take a jumpshot and he doesn't get a touch is a bad possession. He does work down low and he needs his touches. The more he touches the ball the better it will make everyone else because teams will have to double, and pinch in on there zone defenses which will open up slashers and open shots on the perimeter. Eli is proven to be a much better passer this season and he has improved his post moves, now just let him use it night in and night out.

Yes sir...I'll post in the predictions thread.
Holmes 58, Chaparral 43 - Holmes got off to a slow start against Chaparral in the consolation quarterfinals but managed to come away with a 15-13 lead in the opening quarter. Luke Roh and Nick Tomsick scored six points apiece for Chaparral in the second quarter as the Firebirds took a 25-24 lead at the half. The Firebirds could manage only four points in the third quarter as Holmes took a ten point lead going into the final quarter. Holmes' Demetrius Avery scored eight in the final quarter as the Bulldogs sealed a 58-43 win. Elijah Pittman led the Bulldogs with 17 points. Luke Roh led the Firebirds with 14 points.

Still not able to score more than 61 points against a team missing Zeke (their best player). Their coach needs to let go of the reins on their D1 athletes.

I guess you are a better coach than Henley.:eyeroll:

Holmes only averaged 60 ppg last year and finished 36-2 with a state championship. I'd say Coach Henley knows a thing or two about what he's doing.

Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships...next.
Way to bounce back Dawgs

You are really concerned with how many points this team scores... This is a game where they didn't need 61 again, 44 would have been enough...
