From Jody Demling's blog:

One of the preseason favorites for the Sixth Region title is Iroquois.

The Raiders have one of the state's top prospects in IUPUI signee Donovan Gibbs (photo). He's a 6-foot-7 wing with a long reach and very athletic body. He averaged 15.6 points and 8.6 rebounds a game last season and is the preseason player of the year.

Gibbs is joined by junior Jermaine Jackson, a 6-foot-4 guard who averaged 16.4 points a game as a sophomore and will make up one of the best 1-2 scoring combos in the state.

Iroquois coach Michael Stinnett has several other youngsters he will let loose.

The Raiders have a rugged schedule and some prime time games. The season opener will be on Dec. 1 against Seventh Region contender Seneca on the road.

Iroquois will play in the King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic Dec. 17-22 at Fairdale and the KFC/Taco Bell Classic at MArion County Dec. 26-29. The Raiders will also compete in the LIT in early January at Bellarmine University.

Other top regular-season games are: at PRP (Dec. 8), at DeSales (Dec. 15), at Manual (Feb. 2) and at Central in the season-finale on Feb. 16.
