The BCI Halloween Hoopfest was held this past weekend at KBA in Lexington. The Hazard Bulldogs won the 8th grade tourney defeating teams such as Pulaski Southwest, Lex Cath and a couple of teams from Louisville. It was a great weekend of basketball and some fierce competition. Way to go Dawgs!!

Hazard got beat by Southwestern 62-55. Hazard did win the tournament though. Southwestern got beat by Lex Cath when half the team had to leave and play in the 7th grade tournament which was playing at the same time. Not to take anything away from Hazard because they do have one of the better teams in the state.
SWHS Future: You have a great basketball team. We would've liked a rematch in the finals. You are right, you beat us in the first game. It was our first game of the season, having only practiced a couple of times. We were not putting you down--just announcing that we won the tournament and naming a few of the teams who were in it. Sorry for the mistake.

That was our first game too. Our season officially starts Nov. 12th. They told us they would be able to play the 7th and 8th grades at different times, but when we got there, every game but the first was at the same time. Oh well. I really like your team and look forward to playing you again. I think Hazard will make some noise in the state tournament this year. Good luck with your season.
