The Cardinals’ skid against Henry Clay dated back six games over 12 years. The win also marked the first back-to-back victories this season for Clark, which had been rotating wins and losses since dropping their first game of the season.

After their first two drives ended with punts, the Cardinals scored first on a 10-yard pass from Dini to Rogers to take a 6-0 lead with 1:29 left in the first quarter. Dini found Curry on a 44-yard touchdown pass two possessions later to go up 12-0.

Henry Clay cut the lead in half on Shannon Coofer’s 39-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter, but that’s as close as the Devils would get. Three of their first possessions ended with turnovers, and Henry Clay had five for the game. Clark County punted nine times but never turned the ball over.

Branden Johnson led the Devils with six rushes for 105 yards.
