This was a really good game.
Holmes drove down the field on their second possession of the game and scored on a Jessie Jensen keeper from around 4 yards out and led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Second quarter Cooper got on the board at the 10:25 mark on a 3 yrd Dvontae Bradley run. On the ensuing kick, Holmes' sophomore DJ Coston returned the kickoff for 85 yards and the TD to put Holmes up 14-7. Holmes then got the ball back and scored again at the 3:57 mark on a 15 yard Damien Oden run. The Dawgs would head in to the half up 21-7. Unofficially, Bradley had just 45 yards on 13 carries for Cooper. For Holmes, sophomore RB Clemons has 48 yards on just 6 carries.
In the third quarter Damien Oden scored on an 80 yard run to put Holmes up 28-7 with 9:15 left to play in the third. From this point on it'd be all Cooper.
With 8:06 remaining in the 4th quarter Dvontae Bradley took it in from 6 yards out to cut the Holmes lead to 28-14. Holmes drove down the field and attempted a 39 yard field goal with a little over 3 minutes to play but it was blocked and Bradley returned it back to the Holmes 35. A few plays later, Bradley scored again for his second td of the game to cut the Holmes lead to 28-21 with 1:15 to play. Cooper attempted an onside kick but didn't recover and Holmes kneeled on it twice to run out the clock.
