Congrats Cougars the next game is home on the 27th against Jenkins, and then they play Sept 1st away at Harlan Co.
The real test comes at Pulaski Co. on the 18th and 19th of September. When, and if they play E-town who is 13-0.
E-Town is 10-0, sorry.
What has been the road in the state tournament for E-town? How far have they went?
They lost in the quarterfinals in 2007 to Notre Dame Academy out of Northern Kentucky. This tournament also has the defending 13th region champs, Corbin Redhounds, and the defending 12th region champs, Southwestern, whose record at this time is 9-0.
Corbin isn't as strong as last year. Not sure about Southwestern.
It appears that Southwestern may be as strong as they were last year.
Whatever the outcome is this is the kind of tournament we need to get us ready for region and hopefully state.
Belfry, Allen Central, and South Floyd will be good tests near the end of the season as they are better than most volleyball programs from the 12th to the 16th regions.
Do you think Coach Adams will beef up the schedule next year?
To a point. If June Buchanan doesn't have a team next year that will leave is two new open dates. From the 12th to the 16th region, the 15th region is the strongest and we play the best teams in it. Tournaments is where we can get more competition next year as this is the first year we have not played in Lexington in a while. It is hard to schedule individual games long distance's due to time and money. Outside of tournaments, not many volleyball teams in the state travel very far. Look at Assumption, Sacred Heart and Mercy's schedule. They very rarely schedule an instate school as they play all over the nation.
