Ashland jumped out to a 6-0 lead on a long run and held Catholic scoreless in the first half. Then Catholic scored on a 58 yard touchdown pass to tie the game early in the 4th qt. Ashland stopped Catholic at their 2 yd line as time ran out in regulation.

Catholic scored on first play of over-time and came up short on extra pt. before holding Ashland scoreless to push their record to 3-0.

This was the rematch in last years 1st round of the 7th grade middle school playoffs in which Catholic won 20-6 over unbeaten Ashland Verity.
In 7th Grade game - Ashland Verity 20, LC 0. Tied 0 - 0 at half. Verity came out strong and broke some big plays in the second half. Congrats to Ashland Verity 7th.
Up next for LC - Lone Oak 8th and 7th as part of the Republic Bank Bluegrass Bowl Saturday August 29.

Actually a full day of football featuring teams from all corners of Kentucky.

9:00 a.m., Lexington Christian Acadamy Eagles will take on the Pulaski Southern Warriors in an 8th grade match up.

10:30: Lexington Catholic Knights will host the Lone Oak Purple Flash in a 7th grade game.

Noon: 8th grade match up between last years KYMSFA Champion Bowling Green Purples (as 7th graders) and Graves County Eagles. This game will also features 2009 FBU All-American Bowl East 7th Grade MVP Tyler Jopes (now and 8th grader) from Bowling Green.

1:45 p.m. Lexington Catholic hosts Lone Oak in a classic match up that is reminiscent of the 2007 high school state championship and features rising stars from both the sides of the Bluegrass state including FBU East All-Americans Josh Mesmer and Noah Mitchell from Lexington Catholic.

Sorry, I completely forgot about 7th grade game. I see a pattern here.
