Could you be elegiable to transfer from a public school to a christan school and be elegiable to play the next year right after you switch?

If the player does not move and played a varsity sport the prior year, no he/she would not be eligible. He/she would have to sit out a year.

You are exactly right.
This is a KHSAA rule. If a school participates in KHSAA, then the rule applies. There are many Christian schools that do not participate in KHSAA and have their own championships. Rules for eligibility are much more relaxed in the private conferences.

How many private conferences are there and are there a lot of schools that participate in them. I know there has been a growing sentiment by some public schools in Kentucky to split the state tournaments into public and private. Many public schools feel like they were at a disadvantage because private schools had no boundaries and some of the larger private schools would give scholarships to students that were suppose to be need based and academically oriented and in reality it was just for athletic reasons. Private schools in Northern Kentucky has done a better job of abiding by the KHSAA rules and policing theirselves than their Lexington and Louisville counterparts.
