"(CNSNews.com) – Vice President Joe Biden told people attending an AARP town hall meeting that unless the Democrat-supported health care plan becomes law the nation will go bankrupt and that the only way to avoid that fate is for the government to spend more money."

“Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’” Biden said. “The answer is yes, that's what I’m telling you.” (Listen to Audio)

The Department of Treasury, Bureau of the Public Debt (BPD) is now taking applications for a humorist/cartoonist, normally I would say their getting ready to send in the clowns, but I think the clowns have been there since Jan. 20

"The Contractor shall conduct two, 3-hour, Humor in the Workplace programs that will discuss the power of humor in the workplace, the close relationship between humor and stress, and why humor is one of the most important ways that we communicate in business and office life. Participants shall experience demonstrations of cartoons being created on the spot. The contractor shall have the ability to create cartoons on the spot about BPD jobs. The presenter shall refrain from using any foul language during the presentation. This is a business environment and we need the presenter to address a business audience."

This just in, from the vice president- You must smoke five packs of cigarettes a day in order to quit smoking.

You must drink a case of beer a day in order to quit drinking.

You must drive recklessly in traffic in order to drive safely.

If your obese, eat a 10,000 calorie a day/ 200 fat grams a day diet in order to lose weight.
Got something against socialism, do you? Big Grin

We may be moving to a step below Socialism.
I'm starting to think you guys are in love with each other.... Where was all this concern when billions upon billions of US bucks were being vomited up in Iraq? "Hey, by gosh, imperialism's one thing... but, hey, a black man runnin' america, now that's another. That's socialism." It's a shame Kentucky will not allow gay marriage... you guys could throw a group party.

At least the money in Iraq (at least since the surge and upgraded equipment) has worked. Decreased violence and saved lives. I know i can thank the good ole USA for my life.

You are suggesting that money spent to rebuild schools and bridges we blew up is money better spent than "stimulus" money used to keep banks solvent, to fund projects within OUR borders?

I am not. However, Iraq was not exactly utopian prior to our invasion. Money does need to be spent to restore our economy. However, I think most people that are laughing at VP Biden's statement are laughing because they disagree with where the money is going and how it is being spent. BOTH sides pushed these "stimulus" packages through without careful research (many voted without even reading the **** things.) Of course, this allows millions or even billions of dollars to be wasted on pork barrel projects that do little to help the country.

We must spend money to restore the economy, but it must be money that we can afford to spend AND pay back. The goverment borrowing money from China and other countries may help now, but in the big picture we are just digging ourselves deeper and deeper into debt. However, until we get some leaders who are truley willing to go against popular opinion and save money and make smart investments, instead of just giving money away to please the population, we are only patching the problem and the boom bust cycle will continue until the Big Bang hits.

I don't think we necessarily need to spend money as much as we need to create permanent jobs.
Wow what a dumb political statement by Biden. Yes there is truth in the statement, you do need money to make money that is a basic economic pillar but when you say we need to spend trillions to make back trillions and trillions in deficit you are looking for outrage from both sides of party lines.
