GIRLS’ FIRST TEAM

GIRLS’ ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Anna Carrigan, Campbell County
The sophomore led the Camels to a
second-place finish at the 3A state
meet. She won the 400, finished fifth
in the 200, then anchored statechampionship
relays in the 4-by-200
and 4-by-400. Both relays set Northern
Kentucky records.

GIRLS’ COACHES OF THE YEAR

Dave Meyers,
Newport Central Catholic
He led the Thoroughbreds to the
program’s first team state title.
NewCath won the 1A championship.

Terri Mayhew, Highlands
She led the Bluebirds to their
second straight 2A



Judy Albanese, Notre Dame
The senior was the area’s top performer
in the discus. She finished second
at the 3A state meet in the event
and also took seventh in the shot put.

Michelle Canterna, Cooper
The junior captured Cooper’s first
state title, winning the 3A long jump.

Maria Frigo, St. Henry
The junior ran the area’s top time in
the 1,600, winning the 1A state title.
Anna Goetz,
Highlands
The senior won the 2A state title in
the triple jump.

Gabby Gonzales, Ryle
The sophomore was one of the area’s
top distance runners, taking eighth at
state in the 1,600. She ran the area’s
top time in the 3,200, finishing third.

Katie Neiser,
Bishop Brossart
The senior won 1A state titles in both
the 100 and 200.

Donnell Nocero, Lloyd
The senior was the 2A state high
jump champion. She also finished third
in the 100 hurdles and sixth in the long
jump.

Natalie Norman,
Grant County
The senior finished second in the
Class 3A state meet in the 800, turning
in the area’s top time.

Stephanie Proffitt,
Simon Kenton
The senior took third at the 3A state
meet in both throwing events.
Lily Rodgers, Covington Latin
The junior won the 1A state title in the
3,200 and finished second in the
1,600.

It has been a thrill watching both Anna and Robbie perform.

Both of these youngsters have a Major College opportunity.
