Have they hired him or is he just looking around????
Would make a very good coach. He is a great motivator. And he is from the Mountains.
I saw him today with Ozz, Ms.Craft, Coach Howard, and Mr.Boggs.
Sounds like Craft is going to bypass Trent and hire outside the system. That shows how unloyal she is and she is making a bad mistake not hiring Coach Trent. But i guess she learned from her friend in Hindman how to screw up a hiring process.

I agree!!!
I understand Trent has put in his time, but if you were in the position that she is in, you want a coach with some experience to coach your team. This man is a great coach, like I said he would be last week, and has some State Tourney experience from this past year when they beat Hazard. He will make a great coach and Trent would learn a lot from him as well. Trent needs to start looking elsewhere if he wants to get into coaching. Needs to start out a little smaller scale than one of the largest schools in the 14th. I know all the Trent followers think he is ready, but it's a whole different ballgame when your out their on the sidelines running the show and fighting for your job. Good luck to the Cougars with their "Possible" new hire. Just hope they do it soon.
What ever she (Anna Craft ) is gonna do she needs to do it and do it now!!! I think everyone is tired of waiting around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree they need to hurry.
Well looks like A.C has all but slapped Trent, in the face!! WAY TO GO A.C STUPID STUPID MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!

If I am not mistaken I think Hammonds has been a head coach for just a few years. He made it out of a very weak 12th region and if Hazard had not went 12 minutes without scoring a field goal I dont think he would have been called for a visit.
Also, I am not saying Trent is the only choice that should be considered but I personally think he should be a the top of the list. I dont even think she should have let Justice go but since she did I think he is the best replacement because I think from what I have seen and heard he really knows the game and is wanted by a large majority of players and parents because they have seen firsthand what he is capable of.

Well said. I agree 100%!!!!!
Maybe AC is remembering what Trent did a couple of years ago when he coached at Whitesburg High. Personal issues. He needs to apply at a smaller school for a head coach job and get more experience than a big school like LC. Just because he has been the assistant does not mean he has rights for the head coaching job. AC find someone that has more experience! We want our boys to go to state! If Justice couldn't do it with all his experience than why would his assistant be more successful? Justice was a great coach.
Does anyone know if Coach Hammonds has officially accepted this job yet?? I'm pretty sure it was offered to him and just wondered what kind of time table did he give for his answer? Usually 24-48 hours.. Just wondering, been awfully quiet lately!
Last I heard they were trying to work out some kinks. Was supposed to announce Monday and here it is Th evening. Not sure they worked anything out.

I'm not saying that Trent would be a bad choice or that him being wanted by the kids and parents isn't a big deal, but to say that Hammonds got lucky (which is what the above statement appears to say) is a joke. Regardless of how weak the 12th was this year, it was the first ever trip for the school. Do you know how hard it is to get that first one, its the hardest of them all. Also the game plan he had against Hazard was the biggest reason the Bulldogs struggled. their defense was stiffling.
Mountain Sports Guru,
Why should Trent go and Coach at Riverside or some other little no name small school? It would be hard to win a game at these places. And LCC is NOT A BIG TIME PROGRAM. They have not won anything up there basketball and when they were split up, they didnt win either very often. Give TRENT the job. He can do it. He wouldnt of let Buckhorn beat him at home, I would bet the farm on that.
