Ryle 50, Newport Central Catholic 48: Ryle sophomore center Bobby Stauffer sank two free throws with 2 seconds remaining to lift Ryle, ranked No. 5 in The Enquirer Northern Kentucky coaches' poll. Stauffer was fouled going for a rebound on a NewCath miss.
Senior guard Andy Ahern, junior forward Clay Coleman and junior center Tate Nichols scored 12 points each for the Raiders.
