A solid team effort by Oldham County proved to be strong enough as coach Aaron Riordan's squad came out on top in the Region Five wrestling meet yesterday at Hoops.
His team didn't have as many individual title winners as South Oldham, but Riordan will have a region-topping 12 wrestlers advancing to the State Meet.
That helped Oldham County win the regional title with 209 points. Eastern was runner-up at 180 and South Oldham third at 168.50.
Leading the way for No. 17-ranked Oldham County was freshman Travis Schuyler, who won the individual title in the 103-pound class with a pin in 40 seconds over South Oldham's Nathan Long........
