Who do you honestly think should start at the point?
Well If I were the coach I would have a completly new line-up.

-Patrick patterson
-Josh Harrellson
-Perry Stevenson or Darrius Miller
-Ramon Harris
-Jodie Meeks

Yes you heard me right, I would have MEEKS run the show at PG.
Right now I would say Porter is the right choice. However, Liggins might work his way into it/
I think Liggins will be the starter before the year is over.

I completely agree.
Porter should run the show for the cats, until Liggins shows he is ready.
1 - Porter
2 - Meeks
3 - Harris
4 - Stevenson
5 - Patterson

Stevenson really impressed me in the last exhibition game and I think Liggins will eventually take over at point, he just seems a little lost right now.

Meeks is your premiere perimeter player and 2nd best offensive thread on the team. There is no way you can have him running the point. PG's are there to handle the ball and distribute it to the open guy. With Meeks running the point, there would be less shooting from Meeks and we definitely don't want that. I think the lineup is fine where it is, but like someone mentioned, look for Liggins to step in at point in place of Porter. At least Liggins is a threat to score whereas Porter can't make a layup.
Amen to that, Porter is lucky if he can even get a shot off. He will start at first but I think its Liggins job sooner rather than later. Other than that, the starters will or at least should remain the same. I think Harrellson will be better coming off the bench as well as Miller. They will be bringing alot of energy off the bench, especially Harrellson. That kid just oozes of energy, he seems really hyper to me and someone that can be physical and not back down from any physical play, something UK has lacked for a long time.
I agree with everyone else, Porter should be the starter until Liggins can prove that he is ready to come in and be a legitmate threat. He has the god-given talent, just has to be smarter with the ball and without the ball. It's a shame we are not talking about Kevin Galloway. He is also a great athlete who(like Liggins) could play more than just the point, but he hasn't adapted very well into Gillispie's system so he isn't getting a clear shot at point. Hopefully he can soak it all in and get it right. Would be nice to have both Liggins and Galloway running the point.
I think Porter's doing a good job starting as point guard. So I definitely think that Coach Gillispie has made the right choice starting Porter as Point Guard.
Porter is not the guy UK needs running the team. It's unfortuanat that we have that less talent on a UK team that someone with the talent of Porter is starting and even playing. If he could shoot it might make sense to play him, but he can't consistantly make the three. He does no better out there than say, Landon Slone could do and Landon could hit the three more often.

I would set Porter at the end of the bench and never look his way. I don't mean that to be so negative, but he does nothing for this team and he's not the future. We need to play the younger more talented guys. Porter should have never been recruited and I don't blame him I blame Tubby Smith for this one. Porter would be a good player on a good NAIA or small DI team.
I think Liggins should be the man right now. we're going to have to deal with TO's from anyone playing that position, so you might as well go young & build the future.
I would'nt worry about the guard situation. I would worry about getting someone else to set in the coaches seat.

We got the right guy. Just wait and see Wink.
Added a poll.

If Tubby was still around with Meeks and Patterson I would say you guys would make the sweet 16 easy. But not with Gillispie
Umm i think somebody screwed up by not recruiting A.J. Slaughter. He would be the perfect answer for UK this year
Liggins should start, Galloway off the bench and then Porter if needed
Porter has experience but Liggins has talent and will probably be the starter before the year is out.
I think this should be the starting lineup for the CATS :
-Patrick Patterson
-Perry Stevenson
-Darius Miller
-Jodie Meeks
-Ramon Harris
I'll say Liggins will be the starter by the time of the UL game or SEC play.
Im gonna say Porter. Liggins just dont have any sense to him. Porter does suck but he is smarter than Liggins.
I think Liggins showed some improvement in the WVU game....He needs to start and get experience because he will have to be our PG come conference play...Porter can't handle it.

Yes you heard me right, I would have MEEKS run the show at PG.

Look at his assist to turnover ratio..............Probably the reason you aren't a D1 coach.... Right now they don't have anyone worthy of starting a game in the SEC at the point guard position! Hopefully next season, Liggins or Vilarino, or a possible transfer in Lucas will be able to "RUN" a team. If not, BCG might not be here very long............Our turnover numbers WILL NOT allow us to be anything above "medicore"........
