If you could start a high school team with any players from the mountains, and pick anyone to coach it, who would be on your team?

My backfield would be Spencer Greer from Bell Co., Channing Fugate from Breathitt as the running backs, Charlie Banks from letcher at QB. Wideout/rb would be Hunter Adams from Middlesboro. Wide out Demetri Travis of Perry Central. Off lineman would be any combination of Bell's, Johnson Central, or Belfry's. Kicker Merrick from Bell. Defensively, I like #33 from Whiltey, Frazier from Letcher at LB,and any combination of others from the aforementioned teams. Coaching wise-- Howard, Hilton, Holcomb, Matney, Haywood,or Derossett would all be great choices. You could almost have a who's who among high school coaches and never leave the mountains. There are many great ones.

Lewis Qb, Fugate and Greer RB, Adams and Gearhart WR are obvious choices.
Merrick obvious also. Banks shutdown DB, Sester and Campbell = power,would be solid defensive anchors. Travis would be in there somewhere along with Lee.
Hilton would coach.

Makes you wonder why they don't have east vs west and have mountain teams play against ul or lex teams like a all stars.

From what I've seen, I don't think it could get much better.

I like this list, but I think that Greer from Bell County needs to be in Craynons spot and that there Jim Matney or Hilton from Bell county should be in Derossetts place. Derossett isn't even close to Hilton or Matney when it comes to coaching football.

I can see your argument for Hilton but Derossett's resume is much better than Matney's.

Hazard has a very good receiver, but I forget his name......
