Highlands travelled to Hoptown Saturday to defeat the Tigers 48-21. On a nice, but unusually warm October afternoon, the Birds pretty did what they wanted on O.

Josh Conner did not play, but Clint Crawford returned and ran the ball well.

He had 172 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 12 carries. Ollie Head had three touchdowns, two rushing and one receiving.

Tony Guidugli had 150 yards and a TD on 8-of-14 passing.

Michael Laber had an interception and returned it for a td.

All in all, I'd say the coaches were happy with the O.

Birds did a great job stopping the run but had some very uncharacteristic pass defense breakdowns. I'm quite confident that will get straightened out asap.

A very long trip in a day. But I really enjoyed the trip and getting to see the Stadium of Champions. Nice place. And the people from Hopkinsville were very nice. First class program.
Highlands is so impressive this year, shouldn't take much effort for them to win a state championship.

Congrats to the Birds!
