Quarterback A.J. Cordle of Russell High School has been named the Primetime Prep Performer of the Week for Class AAA football in Kentucky. Cordle threw TD passes of 32 and 41 yards to Justin Mitchell in Russell's 35-20 win over Boyd County. Boyd coach Lee Evans told the Ashland Daily Independent 'there's no question, that (the passing game) was the difference in the game.'

Congrats to Mr. Cordle...I am counting on getting to see him play the third round of the playoffs, but lets both enjoy the ride and hope we get to the same destination at the same time...Good luck to the Devils this week.

Also good to see Jones from Fairview and Setser from Prestonsburg representing the Eastern part of the state.

Jones does a pretty fair job.

Downing from Lewis is a great athlete, he gets a lil hard on himself. But, the kid can play. Being from Lewis County doesn't get you any recognition though.
