Nothing paints a bulls-eye on your back quite like a fat wallet. Few companies in the videogame industry know this better right now than Nintendo. Word comes in a report from Bloomberg that the creators of the highly successful Wii and DS consoles are once again being sued, this time for patent infringement. The company behind the latest lawsuit is Rockville, Maryland-based Hillcrest Laboratories Inc. They have filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) in Washington to block imports of the Wii and Wii remotes and have filed a civil suit in federal court in Greenbelt, Maryland. Unspecified cash damages are also sought. Hillcrest Labs' public statement regarding the suit is as follows:

While Hillcrest Labs has a great deal of respect for Nintendo and the Wii, Hillcrest Labs believes that Nintendo is in clear violation of its patents and has taken this action to protect its intellectual property rights.

Do you think this suit has any merit, or is it just an attempt to grab some money from nintendo's recent sucess?
OK, is this lawsuit serious? Because the guy in the picture from that link, looks like "Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer". Smile

that man is the famous "Unfrozen caveman lawyer", lol!

The lawsuit is serious, Hillcrest labs believes nintendo has broken 4 of their patents, one of which is a 3-d device that controls graphics on a tv (wii mote).
