Martin lets his play on the court speak for itself
By ROCKY STANLEY â The Independent
Lawrence County junior Nathan Martin is so quiet, sometimes his voice barely registers above a whisper.
Put him on the tennis court, however, and his racquet speaks like a cannon.
Martin, who thundered his way to the State Tournamentâs Round of 16 in singles, is The Independentâs Boys All-Area Tennis Player of the Year.
âItâs a nice honor to be named the best player,ââ he said.
Martin captured his fourth consecutive 15th Region singles title and was seeded in the 9-12 group for the state championships at the University of Kentucky.
