For the third game in a row, 6-8 junior Richie Phares put the Cardnals on his back offensively, 30 points on 15-19 shooting from the field. Hard to believe he didn't make one trip to the foul line in this physical game.

For you mountain region folk, you need to see this kid play. Great offensive skillset in every facet, post moves, confident 15 ft jumper, 3-point range, great position rebounder and overall smart defensive player. He has put up 28, 34 and 30 in his last three contests against Bryan Station, Henry Clay and Sayre, if not for Jon Hood, he would be a serious Mr. Basketball contender next year (would guess he will still be in the top 3 in voting). Look for him to average 30 plus next season along with 10 plus rebounds as Scott Co loses 8 seniors and 6 of their top 11 in their rotation.

Kid has a knack for getting the ball under the basket and using the rim to protect him using either right or left handed english for reverse layups, puts in abou five baskets a game this way.
Congrats Scott Co.
For the past 4 games Phares has averaged 29 points but most impressively he has shot 75% from the field. During these games he is only playing about 24-25 minutes per game due to rotating with Lee and Hundley. Last season he had trouble guarding quick post players. In my mind Phares is a VERY SERIOUS Mr Basketball candidate. Players really develope in the Scott Co system.
Congrats Scott Co.
