Final.
Raceland wants to get the derby classic back to 8 teams per Joe Bryan Raceland's coach.
Ttt
Raceland has a lot of work to do in the strength department, imo, both physically and mentally. Not much fire out of the rams in this one either.
Glad to see Russell still plays Raceland in basketball...and I see why. Raceland should bring in Jason Mays if they want a legit basketball program to go along with their football success.

Russell needs to recruit their hallways better for their football team. They've got several guys on the hardwood who would look pretty good on the gridiron.

Who are you a fan of since you seem to continue to take shots at Russell? Maybe a team Russell beats on a regular basis? Tell us which 16th region team you are a fan of no need to hide it.
I thought the same thing watching the game last night. Blume looks like the typical RB Russell used to have and the Charles kid looks like a match up nightmare

Raceland has never really taken basketball seriously and unfortunately the program will likely always play second fiddle to football and never get the same level of support.
Russell administration respects amd takes all sports seriously and not just football which I admire about Russell.

I wish Raceland was more like this. We have several sports that get little to no support or recognition.

Yeah but it’s starts with the administration. Idk Racelands coach at all but everyone says he’s a good dude and I’m sure he is but…..this is his second year coaching varsity basketball. Raceland had a chance to have a good coach from another state but chose to give a job to a friend. That’s why Raceland basketball is a joke. Probably the second best gym in the area and we don’t take it seriously
I’m not sure about any school’s hiring practices BUT I will agree Raceland’s facilities are outstanding! Especially for a small school! I will give Raceland’s administration, Board and community credit for providing great facilities for their kids. The football, basketball, baseball facilities are great not good.

As far as the basketball program, I believe up til the past few years Raceland basketball program has been more successful than Russell’s program so hopefully their fans will have patiences and things will get better.

Russell has 41 wins to Raceland 18 dating back to 97. I would say Russell has been more successful. You can't dispute facts.
I stand corrected! Russell has had much more success against Raceland than I thought. Maybe I should have said Raceland has had as much regular season success as Russell has. That probably would have been a more factual statement.

Since the topic turned to who took basketball more success I wanted to make the point that Raceland has had success as well as Russell but I did not say that very well. My apologies.

You are correct …. facts are facts!

I’m not sure if it’s so much of an issue of patience as it is having a culture of just not taking basketball seriously at Raceland.  The program has never had high expectations and most of the time having a winning season and making the region tourney is considered a good year.  That’s just how it’s always been and I don’t see that mentality changing.
