Curious to see what it would look like with the old school four class system with today's numbers.  Played with this for a while when my kid was at basketball practice.  Know that we'll never go back to this, but it's fun to speculate what it might look like.  Here's my look at this with classes being divided evenly and nobody playing up.

I love your effort but why would NCC be in a district with Raceland and not with Beechwood?

When I played in the 4 class system our district was Raceland, LCA, Nicholas Co, Fairview, Paris, Berea, and Bath Co
Putting this together, every district gets seven teams except one that gets six. There's 14 NKY/NEKY teams that neatly make up a region. Bishop Brossart and New Cath were the closest on the map to slide away from the other Northern Kentucky district. Strictly done to keep numbers balanced.
I like it. Reminds me of the days when you actually earned a playoff spot
Love it.
Brings back some traditional district rivals.

I would be 100% in on this.

Makes you earn your spot. Looking at some of the 1st and 2nd round potential matchups would make those rounds so much more interesting.
Yes, earned playoff spots…and by logical extension, state titles.

Also interesting to see that Mayfield, Beechwood and LCA would all be in Class A. Neat.
Each class would be absolutely loaded
1a Pikeville, Raceland, Mayfield, Owens Cath, Beechwood, LCA, NCC
2a Belfry, Bell, Breathitt, Bardstown, CAL, Lex Cath, Central
3a Ashland, Johnson Central, Cov Cath, Highlands, Boyle, Pulaski, Corbin, Scott Co
4a Bowling Green, South Warren, Owensboro, St X, Male, Trinity, Freddy D, Bullitt East, Southwestern

Talk about some amazing matchup in every round. You win a title in one of those classes you deserve it.

I played in the 4 class system and the 1A playoffs were no joke from the second round and beyond.
Absolutely love this ……. Bring this back ….

I played in 2a under the 4 class system. Even if you were a 1 seed you still got a pretty good team in Rd 1 and from Rd 2 on were battles.
I think it would add so much value to the regular season and make district championships worthy again. All the Fayette County publics, plus Great Crossing in a district would be a blast. Sign me up for Boyle, Franklin, and Scott going after it every year for a district championship. Even districts that might not have an annual state championship contender would have some fun district races. The three-way between Hazard, Williamsburg, and Middlesboro would be great most years with teams like Harlan, PIneville, and Leslie County with spoiler capabilities.
