I know it can go on down the line from OWP TO OOWP, but it’s very flawed when OC, with 3 losses can be ranked ahead of 9-0 mayfield. AND , LEXINGTON CHRISTIAN would beat the snot out of Mcclean county.
All about scheduling tough opponents or higher classes. Corbin was 10-0 last year and got 3rd.

Partially true, mayfield schedules the biggest schools in the west ky area, all in higher classes, that are generally Decent teams but are having bad years. Not Mayfield’s fault, and they get punished by the RPI for it. They do need to drop Calloway county for sure and then maybe meet a better team on a neutral field around mid state like they did a couple times with corbin at Lindsay wilson college.

Would you get more points for beating a mediocre 5 or 6 A school, that you would for losing to a real good 3 or 4 A team?

I may be wrong, but I think this is really the first year that we can see the effects of “scheduling for RPI”.
??
Hancock Co is 6th in RPI and missed the playoffs...
Who's the sleeper in 2A?! Which team is gonna show up when it matters & make a run that on paper they shouldn't make?! Something's telling me not to count out LCA!! But that's just me, besides, what do I know lol

This area of the state has been weird this season. Many of the bigger schools in the area are down & most of the smaller schools are up this season. So you've got the smaller schools (Hancock, Butler Co, McLean Co, etc...) beating the much larger schools like Breckinridge Co, Ohio Co, Muhlenberg Co & so these smaller schools have been consistently high in the RPI due to beating the much larger schools. Hancock Co only has 3 losses on the season with some wins over much larger schools but all 3 of their losses are district losses so they are the odd man out from District 2.
